    Jennifer Harrison BEM (Chief Executive Officer & Company Secretary)

    My role is to provide leadership and be overall responsible for the organisation’s operations, administration and financial management. Working closely with the board of trustees, we listen and respond to the needs of our community and develop the organisation’s long-term plan, budget and ensure it complies with the law and regulations.

    Acting as ambassador for NSDT, my responsibilities are to be the public face for campaigns and building of relationships with customers, and partners. I also play a key role in motivating and engaging volunteers, staff, beneficiaries and prospective donors.  I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider.

    Pamela Sahonta (Finance & Administration Officer)

    My role is to work with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure the accurate preparation and maintenance of financial records for the organisation in accordance with our policies and procedures and in accordance with legislative and statutory requirements.

    I also am responsible for providing an effective and efficient administrative support to the Trust including members of the Board,  of Trustees, Sub Group and the wider staff team and volunteers.  I am also responsible for the overall management of our room booking and venue hire enterprise for the Trust.

    Julie Meacham (Play Development Worker)

    My role is to support the Out of School Club Manager to develop a fun and friendly environment in which all children and young people have a safe space in which they can play.

    The Principles define play as ‘a process that is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. That is, children and young people determine and control the content

    and intent of their play, by following their own instincts, ideas and interests, in their own way for their own reasons.’

    Chris Edwards (Facilities Manager

    My role is to manage the NSDT caretaking and cleaning team ensuring the centre is opened and securely closed for out-of-hours bookings during evenings and weekends, providing assistance as required e.g. ensuring hire space including communal areas are clean and presentable for the next booking. 

    I also assist the Chief Executive Officer in ensuring that all duties and responsibilities are performed in a safe manner so that no risk to health and safety arises to myself, any other employee/volunteer or members of the public.

    Moin Uddin (Caretaker)

    My role is to support the organisation to ensure that the Brasshouse Community Centre is operational, safe and secure, during out of office hour operation. 

    We remain in the centre and be a point of contact for the duration of the hire period. We ensure any hirer complies with the terms and conditions of hire including ensuring that the No Smoking policy is observed and that children are supervised by the hirer at all times

    Anthony McFarlane – Chairman

    Using photography as Artistic Documentary, Anthony specialises in evocative images of black and white simplicity in documenting the world we live in and creating bespoke photographic limited edition books.  Born in Yorkshire he first used the camera in the 80’s to begin documenting black British performers in the Birmingham area, capturing some very iconic images over the last decade.

    During the last few years he’s developed his own photographic workshops, concentrating on using the camera as a tool for self-­‐awareness.

    Anthony is currently a Board Member of Friends of Creative Arts.  Anthony was awarded the  Charity Trustee of the Year 2018 in the Volunteer Centre Sandwell Awards.

    Irene Ellis MBE – Vice Chairperson

    Local resident.

    Chair of the Albion Tenants and Residents Association and the Albion Neighbourhood Watch. Irene has been a Board member since 1999.  Irene works as a Carer for the local authority and is keen to promote economic, social and environmental regeneration of the area.

    Matt Trump – Treasurer

    Director of National and Internation Finance of Hadley Industries Plc, a globally successful business with a long standing head office and manufacturing location in Smethwick.

    I am a Chartered Accountant with experience in the Audit, Corporate Finance and Manufacturing sectors. I hope to apply the financial skills I have developed during my career to help the NSDT become the successful and sustainable social enterprise it strives to be.

    I am enthusiastic about supporting people and organisations in achieving their goals through insightful and pragmatic financial advice.

    Paramjit Kaur Randhawa – Board Member

    Local resident and former St. Paul’s ward Councillor.

    I have been a Board member since 1999 and former Chair of the Trust.

    I currently work in a local primary school and am chair of governor’s at another local primary.

    I take pride and a keen interest in both local issues and the local environment. I believe in moving the area forward through regeneration and consultation.

    Rakesh Aggarwal – Board Member

    Director of the Trust since its inception in 1992.

    Local resident, local businessman and pharmacist and has local pharmacy and properties in the area.  Married with a family and very keen on environmental issues.   Rakesh was recognised for 25 years service in the charity sector in the Volunteer Centre Sandwell Awards 2018.

    Steve Bloomer – Board Member

    A Finance and Business Professional with significant international experience leading large functional areas.

    An alumni of both the Windsor Leadership Trust Emerging Leaders Programme, and the Foundation for Social Improvement Non-Executive Director Programme which introduced me to NSDT.

     A pre-requisite of these being to demonstrate and evidence experience of contributing input to original strategic decisions which have been adopted and effected future direction and success.

    Husband, proud father of two, lifelong Baggies fan and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I strive to harness my skills to drive and encourage positive outcomes.
