Statement on confirmed coronavirus cases at the Brasshouse Community Centre.
North Smethwick Development Trust can confirm that 2 of our employees have tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Saturday 31st October 2020.
Our immediate concerns are for our colleagues and their families and wish them a swift recovery. The health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and visitors are paramount to us and our employees are being offered all necessary support at this challenging time.
It has been established that our team members who have tested positive have not attended any places (other than a recognised Covid test centre) outside their home after they felt ill and they subsequently self-isolated.
We have worked with Sandwell Council’s Public Health Team to make sure that anyone who was in contact with the affected individuals after they fell ill have been notified and that they are able to access support and information as needed. PHE do not consider individuals infectious until they develop symptoms.
North Smethwick Development Trust is taking this situation very seriously and understand this development may cause concern amongst our staff, and the wider community.
We do however want to reassure our community and customers, that we have robust Covid secure processes in place. We have undertaken a further deep clean and disinfection fogging throughout the building is taking place on Wednesday 4th November 2020.
At the request of our colleagues affected and the Board of Directors, we ask that our community remains alert to the virus and follows all necessary guidelines and precautions. For more information visit the Healthy Sandwell website
