Our Over 50’s Computer hailed a great success

Well done to all our over 50s computer Group. Over the last 6 weeks, our group of men and women have continued to learn such topics such as:

  • How to use a computer
  • Surf the internet
  • Send emails
  • Uploads photos
  • Use social media such as Facebook, twitter, YouTube and Instagram
  • Shop online and use comparison site
  • Anything else you wish to know about computers

A joyful friendly group who are always laughing and supporting each other.  Feedback from the last round of learning  has been really positive. Here are some of the findings

  • 100% of those attending learnt what they expected to from our advertising
  • 67% of those attending  felt that the course was too short
  • 83%  of those attending  felt the session times were about right
  • 100% of those attending rated the support and feedback from our volunteer tutor as excellent or good
  • 100%  of those attending rated our facilities as excellent or good
  • 83% of those attending would attend another course with us
  • 100% of those attending rated the Age UK Staff and Brasshouse Staff at very helpful

Other comments received were

  • “more continuous funding as this is an excellent social course as well as a computer course”

Brasshouse has been thrilled with the all the lovely comments.  Jenn Harrison, the Chief Executive Office said “Big thanks must go to Ageuk Sandwell’s  Shirley and Maurice for being fantastic and encouraging tutors.  The staff team who help set up the club have been fantastic too” Clubs like our computer clubs, Crafting Clubs and fitness classes are all really valuable for our more mature members of the community.

Having listened to our members we are thrilled to offer another 6 weeks of FREE learning at a more advanced level and participants will be learning topics, such as:

  • Week 1 6th June 2018      Mobile Phones / Tablet
  • Week 2 13th June 2018    Using Skype & Whatsapp
  • Week 3 20th June 2018    Internet Security – Antivirus, setting passwords)
  • Week 4 27th June 2018    Free programmes/Apps for computers/phones/tablets
  • Week 5 4th July 2018       Social Media (Part I) – Facebook – setting up an account
  • Week 6 11th July 2018     Social Media (Part II)

Our advanced  course continues every Wednesday between 10am and 12 noon. We provide the laptops and tablets for you to use, and the tea and biscuits.
